Bending Borders Global Film SeriesBack >
October 10, 4 pm–October 12, 2018 10 pm
These days, discussions involving borders often times revolve around the building of walls. Coming up in October, the riverrun Global Film Series will be dedicating two days of film program to Mexican Cinema and Culture. By doing this, the hope is to open up dialogues between the WNY community and institutions of higher education, thus breaking down walls in WNY, that will then ripple outwards throughout the country, and the world.
The film selections have been made possible thanks to the efforts of Patrick Martin (Director), Professor Tanya Shilina-Conte (Series Curator – UB English), and Assistant Directors Jake Sanders, Jocelyn E. Marshal, and Brent Cox (UB English), with support from the Burchfield Penney Art Center, the UB Department of English, the UB Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, James Agee (Chair in American Culture), and SUNY Distinguished Professor Bruce Jackson.
Throughout the film program, Mexican-inspired cuisine will be available at the Burchfield Café
