About the Open Buffalo Intern:
Open Buffalo (OB) is seeking Intern candidates with deep commitment to social change and that share our vision of an “Open” Buffalo. To help chart OB's future growth and strategic direction for advancing equity, justice and freedom in the Buffalo region, the Open Buffalo Intern will be assisting a dedicated team on a variety of tasks. Interns will learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with Open Buffalo staff and other professionals in the local nonprofit community. Open Buffalo values its Interns and will go the extra mile to make sure interns receive a learning experience that fits your career goals. The Intern will support OB program areas including: leadership development programming; economic opportunity; public safety reform; and the integration of art and social justice.
- Enrollment in a local high school or university
- Demonstrated commitment, through work or volunteer experience, to social justice
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and creative
- Strong interest in collaboration and building community
- Cultural competency and proven ability to work in a culturally diverse environment

Hours and Compensation
This internship is based in the city of Buffalo, N.Y. Interns will be expected to commit to 10-20 hours a week during the summer of 2019. Successful interns will receive a stipend, professional feedback and guidance.
