Marianne E. Partee, PhD is a Professor at the State University of New York at Erie as well as Director of the Center for Professional Development.
Dr. Partee is active in the community by providing information sessions on economics in ways that enable people to improve their lot in life. She has spoken at church groups in urban areas as well as at groups in the affluent suburbs and businesses. She is a co-founder of #Onebody that addresses race relations in the Catholic Church.
As an educator she conducts research in macroeconomic policy and its impact on economic inequality. In her work, she emphasizes the significance of socioeconomic forces that shape lives. In her publication, Black Girls in Poverty, Dr. Partee addresses the impact of poverty in the lives of African American girls. Her newest project is The Diversity Academy at SUNY Erie, which allows professional development that includes conversations around the topic of race.
Of all her accomplishments, the one that she is most proud of that of being a Mother.
