Open Buffalo's Justice and Opportunity Coalition presents:

 

 

 

Each day hundreds of Buffalo residents are held in the Erie County Holding center without having been convicted of a crime. Our District Attorney and City Court Judges determine who has the privilege of fighting their case with the assumption of innocence and who must pay for their freedom pretrial. Court Watch Buffalo seeks to raise awareness of the arbitrary, racist, and archaic practice of bail setting in Erie County. We are training everyday concerned citizens just like you; to gather data, collect stories, and most importantly put the criminal legal system on notice that we are watching, that they are ELECTED, and we will not sit idly by while this injustice continues.
