Emerging Leaders

Emerging Leaders is a four month leadership development program that empowers participants with the skills, networks, and opportunities to effect meaningful change in their communities.  Skills building topics include history of organizing and movement building, Buffalo/Niagara social history, community organizing, communications, advocacy, research and analysis, and campaign implementation.

Ideal candidates for the Emerging Leaders program include:

  • Individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to social justice issues
  • Individuals that are ready to tackle community organizing campaigns and advocacy issues following the completion of the program.

The Emerging Leaders program was launched in 2015 and has graduated more than 100 individuals since its inception.  Admission to the program includes an application, interview, and commitment to complete the program in its entirety.
