From our friends at the Coalition for Economic Justice:
Join CEJ Buffalo and others for the Truth Commission on Poverty in WNY
Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have said anything about poor people over the last year. That needs to change and we need to bring poor people together across race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and all the other things that are often used to divide us. This Truth Commission is an opportunity for poor people to tell their story to a commission who will then turn around and write a report about their experiences so that we can center poor people and their lives in the poor people's campaign. So come and bear witness to powerful stories or tell your own.
Please join us on Thursday January 25th from 6-8pm at 1199 SEIU HQ 2421 Main St. (Parking on Leroy) for a light dinner and to bear witness to people's stories. Here's a great interview talking about the poor people's campaign with Rev. Emily McNeill who is the Director of the Labor Religion Coalition of NYS. Please share the Facebook page which you can find here and you can register to come here as well. For questions please contact Rev. Kirk at Kirk@cejbuffalo.org or 716-892-5877.
