March For Our Lives - WNY
On March 24, students, families, and supporters of MARCH FOR OUR LIVES will take to the streets of Washington DC, Buffalo and hundreds of other cities and towns to demand that students’ lives and safety become a priority, that we end gun violence and mass shootings, and that we work to CREATE A CULTURE OF PEACE in our schools and communities today.
On March 24, the collective voices of the March For Our Lives movement will be heard in Buffalo & WNY
What: A rally and march in Downtown Buffalo with thousands expected - all demanding a stop to gun violence and to tell state and federal legislators #EnoughisEnough – stop selling out to the NRA and the gun lobby. We will hold legislators accountable if they don't enact gun safety legislation to protect students and others in our communities across America. Surveys and polls show that Americans, overwhelmingly, want significant gun reform legislation.
When: March 24th - 1:30pm (music at 1pm.)
Where: Buffalo City Hall Steps, Niagara Square, with march (>1miles circular).
Why: Students and youth; community, government, and faith leaders and activists - want to express their fierce determination to change the status quo, to hold our government leaders accountable, and to stop the ever-mounting gun violence that is a product of rampant gun availability, with violence begetting more violence.
