In past years, the United States was known as a welcoming country for international students seeking higher education opportunities until recent changes in immigration policy were brought about by the Trump administration. Many students are deciding not to enroll at U.S. institutions due to visa delays or denials, the political climate within the United States, and a competitive international education market. University administrators in international education face a variety challenges as a result of these policies but are working to support international students through inclusion and outreach programs that send the message that international students are welcomed and a valued part of our community. How will this impact the economy at a local level? What are higher education institutions doing to support international students?
