On Thursday, March 29th hundreds of Buffalonians attended the first annual "State of OUR CITY" address at the downtown Central Library. The main themes were policing, immigration, housing, transit, and education. Everyday residents talked about their lived experiences with institutions and systems that continue to marginalize them instead of support them. They also offered real solutions to some of their most persistent challenges.
The next step in holding our elected officials accountable is the build out of The People's Platform for a 100% Buffalo.
OUR CITY is diverse and our lives intersectional. We need a platform that will meet the needs of everyone, regardless of their race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, and immigration status.
Come help us solidify The People's Platform which will include prioritizing fully funded public transit and education, safety for immigrants and other vulnerable populations, quality and safe affordable housing, as well as community control of land, real investment in worker cooperatives and preservation of POC and LGBTQ-led arts and cultural institutions.
