The Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that exists to foster and inspire awareness, understanding, and appreciation of past, present, and future contributions of the Hispanic Community. It is a volunteer-run entity that depends solely on charitable contributions in order to sponsor a myriad of cultural events throughout Western New York.
Over the past year alone, the Council has sponsored and/or collaborated with a variety of arts and cultural institutions to bring over 50 activities to our community, including:
In addition, the Council is the lead organization in a historic collaboration with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, Historical Society, and University at Buffalo in a project that is the first of its kind and which is gaining national notoriety. The Hispanic Heritage History Project seeks to preserve the stories of local Hispanics, both past and present, for future generations.
