From our friends at Colored Girls Bike Too:
The Sisterhood Ride:
*This ride and all other Colored Girls Bike Too events are intended for all those who identify as Black women/WOC and gender non-conforming folxs of color/Black.*
The strength and the sisterhood that each of us, the Black woman, embraces and acknowledges, should not be limited to hashtags and social media quotes. This bike ride will honor that truth by providing an opportunity for us to build with each other, in real time, with the goal of healing, establishing a strong sisterhood, and creating a community of Black women who bike!
Colored Girls Bike Too will be holding a bike ride to Unity Island to foster unity/sisterhood with Black/WOC who bike/bike commute in Buffalo. Each of our rides will serve its own unique purpose, but the overarching purpose of the all the rides is to empower Black women and other WOC by way of bike.
The bike ride will give folxs the opportunity to explore areas of Buffalo they otherwise may not travel to and to de-stress. This ride will also allow us to become familiarized with some of the hidden bike path networks throughout the city.
The bike ride will go as follows:
1. Meet up will be at the Delaware Park basketball courts at 3:00 pm.
2. We will then leave from Delaware Park at 3:30 pm and ride to Unity Island.
3. Finally, we will return back to Delaware Park no later than 5 pm.
We are requesting that everyone wear yellow to the ride. - But no pressure!
If you need a bike please inbox us and we will connect you to a bike for the ride!
**Bike donations (like helmets, bikes, lights etc.) are always welcome at all Colored Girls Bike Too events**
