League of Women Voters Buffalo/Niagara and American Association of University Women present
DEMOCRACY AT RISK a discussion about widespread poverty and the danger it poses to a democratic society. The theme for the discussion is taken from a Thomas Jefferson quote:
“Widespread poverty and concentrated wealth cannot long endure side by side in a democracy.”

Held on Thursday, September 19, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center Auditorium, the panelists will include:

• Lauren Breen, Associate Clinical Professor, Consumer Financial Advocacy Clinic, University at Buffalo Law School
• Ronald Deutsch, Executive Director, New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness
• Sam Magavern, Co-Director, Partnership for the Public Good (PPG)
• Dr. Anthony Neal, Associate Professor Political Science, SUNY Buffalo State College
• Dr. Ted P. Schmidt, Professor Economics and Finance, SUNY Buffalo State College
