From our friends at PUSH Buffalo:
Membership Drive/Street Team Fundraiser
This summer we have had the most diverse team of young community organizers in training we ever had out in the community. These young people have been doing the work of engaging the west side of #Buffaloneighborhood to help us build people power. "People power", or the ability to bring people together in big numbers is the life blood of the work we do. Many of the grass-roots campaigns we have undertaken, and the success we have had, would never have happened if it were not for the engagement and courageous efforts of folks at the community level.
This event on Saturday September 29th a membership drive to help PUSH Buffalo build its membership base, to continue doing the good work that we do. Specifically, monies from this event would support the community outreach work of this new young team. These young people speak the languages of, and represent four different countries of people now living in Buffalo, and living on the city’s West Side. There will be a $10 donation, and part of this donation includes a PUSH Buffalo membership.
We'll also hold our annual #PUSHBuffalo Board elections, and we will be continuing a voter registration drive to get people to exercise their right to vote!
The evening features free food, live entertainment, and live African drumming. We will have wine, and food, beverages, and beer from Community Beer Works Brewery
