What: Speak Out for Ethical Peace Officers (District B)
Where: West Side Community Center, 161 Vermont St
When: Thurs, Oct 20, 6-8pm
Who: The Western New York Peace Center, dedicated since 1967 to
moving our communities away from violence and toward a real culture of peace, and its Racial Justice Taskforce in particular.
The goal of this event, the fifth in a series of Speak Outs for Ethical Peace Officers, is to create a public forum for a conversation concerning the moral and ethical grounds of policing in our own communities. We want to inform the public about the standards that govern the police, both here and across the nation, and learn from our citizens how they perceive the police and what they would like to see from their police, in a continuing conversation. This town hall meeting/discussion works to Inform, Reform, and Transform. The Mayor and BPD officials are invited. All are welcome.
