What: WNY Peace Center 49th Annual Dinner

When: Friday, Nov 11, Armistice Day (doors open 5:30pm)

Keynote Speaker Aly Wane on "Where Do We Go From Here?"

Aly Wane is a black man without documents (from Senegal), working with Opal Tometi, one of the founders of Black Lives Matter, on starting up an organization for undocumented black people. Aly is particularly gifted at showing how issues are connected.

Awardees:

• Agnes William, Seneca, will receive the Licence for Peacemaking Award (named in honor of June Licence), for her work with Indigenous Women's Initiatives. She will start our Dinner Celebration with a Gnyohnyoh - traditional giving of thanks. 
• Jim Anderson, President of PeaceAction New York State, Vice President of Citizen Action, will receive the ALTimate Activist Award (named in honor of Wayne Alt). 

Also including basket raffles, silent auctions, info/vendor tabling, live music. Tickets are available at wnypeace.org.

The WNY Peace Center was started as part of Dr. King's Clergy and Laity Against the War, and works for Peace Through Justice at home and abroad, with taskforces focusing on various aspects of the struggle.
