Emerging Leaders Class of 2016

Yessica Miguelina Amezquita is currently an outreach aide for the Health Department of Erie County in the city of Buffalo, NY. Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx, she is passionate about environmental justice, racial discrimination, and equal rights. She is determined to build strategic partnerships with her fellow Emerging Leaders and is excited to continue building her organization, campaign-building, and empowerment skills to engage her community to increase the knowledge of systematic oppression and how to dismantle it while supporting one another to create social change.
