Jimmy Darby

Jimmy L. Darby Jr. is currently a Restorative Justice Strategic Coordinator and has also worked as a professional consultant since 2005. He earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Sanford-Brown College in Minnesota in 2007. Darby’s career accomplishments have included working with the Minneapolis Urban League as a Program Manager ensuring that Hurricane Katrina survivors were afforded appropriate services. He was also employed with EJJ (extended juvenile jurisdiction) as an at-risk youth detention counselor/life skills coach with Hennepin/Ramsey County Community Corrections and Probation Department. Darby volunteers with the Buffalo Peacemakers, helping to advocate for peace and mutual respect at various community events.
The initial focus of Darby’s community outreach work was to impact the response to crime in the community, train members to work with the individuals affected by crime, as well as those committing crimes in a collaborative effort to keep our community and its people in a safe and thriving living environment. He also works to create ways to incorporate traditional discipline models with restorative practice victim-offender mediation, peace circles and family group conferences to positively impact our community.
