Emerging Leaders Class of 2017

Shakina Williams is currently a senior at Buffalo State College. She is passionate about improving the juvenile justice system and working with families and children to improve their lives through education, community building, policy making, and other institutions. Williams joined Emerging Leaders to build on her skills of public speaking and leadership, so that she can motivate change and accomplish her goals. About the program, she said, ”Emerging Leaders has provided me with tools and opportunities to get involved in social justice around my community.”
