Emerging Leaders Class of 2018

Derek D. Houston is an Emerging Leader who has held leadership positions for the majority of his life within the military, industrial, food processing and construction industry. His life experiences have placed him into positions to become surrounded by a lot of influential, diverse groups of people from all walks of life. As a Deacon, Houston hopes to utilize his life skills to help those less fortunate, whether it’s advocating for more community block clubs, through fair housing, more police community involvement, job training or higher education for our youth. He plans to be one of many voices for change.
