Emerging Leaders Class of 2018

Shyana Broughton is the Creator of Our Mommie Village Doula and Lactation Services and she currently works as the Outreach Coordinator and Intake Specialist for The Full-Term Project. Full Term was founded by Eileen Stewart to educate Black and Brown moms and low-income moms on the birth options that they have. She collaborates with Buffalo Midwifery Services to end the disparities within the community. Shyana has worked with children and families for over fifteen years. She has always had a passion for birth since she was very young. It wasn't until the birth of her daughter did she find her place in the world fighting for birth equity for all. Shyana is looking forward to working side by side with amazing leaders in the community such as the class of 2018 Emerging Leaders that have their stories to tell. Building relationships with community is what she enjoys most and by the end of the leadership course, she will be ready to take Buffalo by storm.
