Melissa Archer, a Buffalo native, graduated from Buffalo Academy of Performing Arts High School. Melissa most recently graduated with a Master of Science from D’Youville College and is a Licensed Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is employed with the Buffalo Urban League as a Project Coordinator for NY Project Hope, a FEMA-funded, COVID emotional support program. She currently serves on the Mental Health Advocates of WNY Board of Directors and Park School Board of Trustees. Melissa has served on the Board of Directors and Mentor for the S.E.N.S.E.S. Foundation, a not-for-profit group that provides social and educational enrichment for at risk students in the Buffalo City Schools. She is a member of a civic and social organization, The Girl Friends, Inc., and served on the Board of Directors for the Girl Friends Fund, the national scholarship program.
Melissa is also a Veteran of the U.S. Army. She currently resides in Amherst, NY, with her husband, Dr. Fred Archer. They have three outstanding children and five fur grandbabies. In her spare time, she enjoys watching The Golden Girls and eating ice cream.
