Tahirah A. Harbin, also known as Tai is authentically, unapologetically, excessively, definitively and decidedly Black and free. She is a Buffalo native who graduated with her BS in Sociology from Buffalo State College (now University). She has served the youth and families of Erie, Chautauqua, and Niagara counties for 15 years while taking on various roles in the human services/social work field.
Tai is the creator and owner of her business Customs by Tai where she makes personalized figurines and art installations. She is the creator and host of the "Shout-out to my Blerds" podcast where she discusses a variety of topics in Black nerd culture. Through her production company Harniarah Productions, she is producing and directing the four-part docuseries "Good Ground, The Greater Faith Bible Tabernacle Story." She has also developed a one-of-a-kind comprehensive training on workplace racial microaggressions and is an impassioned public speaker.
In addition to the previously mentioned passion/purpose projects, she is working on creating content for her YouTube Channel "Chaotic Goodie-Good" and is writing the upcoming book "The Woman in the Back: How I almost became my worst self at the best organization."
Tai desires to utilize her knowledge, experience, talent, resources and time to influence impactful change in her community, to make others feel valued and seen and to fight for the love, life and liberation of Black folk everywhere.
