Willie Griffin is a change agent for his community, working with the youth to help change the narratives and the norms that, for so long, have caused destruction to communities of color. He is currently the lead hospital responder for the Brave and Snug programs in Buffalo, New York. He works at bedside and in the community with victims of gun violence and assaults to help connect them to resources to help ensure that they will not be victimized again. He has also been trained as a Violence Prevention Professional by the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (HAVI). He is currently a senior at Buffalo State University in the social work program and plans to go on to gain his Masters in Social Work from the University at Buffalo. He is committed to change, equity and fairness in his community. As a lifelong resident of the East Side of Buffalo, NY and a father of four, Willie is committed to change, equity and fairness in his community. He believes you have to be the change you wish to see, and he encourages community members to never be afraid to ask for help. Willie is here to help wherever he can.
