Art, music, theater, and other cultural activities have always played an important role in movements for social justice. In a report for the Open Buffalo Innovation Lab, "Social Justice and the Arts," Partnership for the Public Good consultant J.A. DeWald highlights best practices from around the nation and world in integrating the arts with social justice, paying particular attention to restorative justice, worker equity, and high road economic development. We are also pleased to share a new directory of Buffalo Arts and Culture Organizations Promoting Social Justice, which, while certainly not exhaustive, offers an impressive sampling of the work being done in Buffalo.
