On May 1st, 2018, Open Buffalo's very own India Walton was featured on The Public Good radio show.
In conversation, Walton articulated the disparities within marijuana enforcement throughout our city, criminalizing poor and communities of color at a highly disproportionate rate - despite New York state's de-emphasis on possesion of small amounts of marijuana since the 1970s. Given the unequal enforcement for black and brown folks, Walton elaborated on the local fight to make marijuana the lowest level enforcement (LLEP) for Buffalo police.
