Open Buffalo's Emerging Leaders program is a distinctive social justice curriculum aimed at building a stronger Buffalo by preparing new leaders in our city. Emerging Leaders are given the tools and support to make positive changes by participating in cutting-edge training's in organizing, policy and research skills as well as networking with like-minded change agents and community leaders. Mentors play an important role in supporting the new leaders of Buffalo!
Mentoring is a special partnership between two people based on commitment to the mentoring process, common goals/expectations of the partnership and mutual trust and respect. Mentoring is a “Get and Give” experience with the goal of providing a rich and rewarding experience for both mentor and mentee. We ask you to share your information so the Open Buffalo team can determine the best mentor-mentee match based on interests, personality and experience. Not all applicants are guaranteed to be matched with a Emerging Leader participant. Prior to final selection, you will be asked to participate in a brief phone interview.
