On two hot and sunny June days, Open Buffalo staff and volunteers joined hundreds of others at Buffalo’s Juneteenth Festival in MLK Park on June 18 and 19. Buffalo is home to the third-largest Juneteenth celebration in the country. Attendees enjoyed delicious foods hot off the grill, beautiful crafts from artisans all over the city, and a lively parade on Saturday celebrating African-American history and culture.
Open Buffalo’s Justice & Opportunity campaign team was in attendance collecting community policing surveys to gauge residents’ perspectives on police relations with the community. Our goal of collecting 2,000 surveys was reached over the weekend!
