On August 3, the Buffalo Peacemakers agreed to gather in a Restorative Justice Peace Circle led by Licensed Circle and Conference Keeper BaBa Eng, assisted by his trainee, Amy Vossen Vukelic, in the Sanctuary of the Greater Works Deliverance Church, pastored by Pastor James Giles, on William Street.
In the Peace Circle, Eng used a podcast to deliver a Christian call to action for unity and selfless commitment, and a PowerPoint to share information about the concept of “transformational leadership,” highlighting the need for leaders to continually review their commitment to their followers and update their leadership skills. With the assistance of Vukelic, Eng then led the Peacemakers in a guided discussion, with the aid of a Peace Circle "talking Piece," using questions specifically designed to invite honest self-revelation and healing.
This was the first of what the Buffalo Peacemakers have agreed is a much-needed method for continued healing and bonding in the unity that they and our beloved communities need so much.
