Worker leader Jamal Williams takes to the microphone at a Coalition for Economic Justice press event during the Nov. 10 "Fight for $15" National Day of Action.
From Anna Falicov, Board Member with the Coalition for Economic Justice:
This week was yet another exciting week for the movement to raise wages and expand workers' rights across the country. Thanks to all who joined CEJ on Tuesday for a jam packed day of action at McDonald's, Waterfront Nursing home and City Hall. Fast food workers, adjunct faculty, healthcare workers, other low wage workers and their supporters stood united in the demand for living wages and union rights on the job in Buffalo and beyond.
From Cuomo's announcement Tuesday raising the minimum wage for state workers to $15 to the reverberations in the national presidential debate, our voices are being heard and....we are winning!
