Celebrating Inaugural Youth Action Organizing Summit Series

The Youth in Buffalo are so awesome! The 15 young folks who enrolled in Open Buffalo’s inaugural Youth Organizing Summit Series spent five Saturdays at Open Buffalo headquarters, for six hours at a time! They spent each Saturday learning how to speak about their experiences, learning how to connect their experiences with their peers, and finally how to start a campaign and advocate for equality! Every Saturday had a lot of trust-building and activities, so the young folks did not grow bored easily, but also so it could help them retain the information better.
Our training facilitators did not want this to be a sixth day of school, but a hands-on workshop where your real-time learning can be applied as soon as you walk out the door!
Be on the lookout for 2024’s “Level Up Series,” where we will be hosting monthly training for our young folks in the community on topics they hand-picked!
