The Color Run, hosted by Open Buffalo’s Youth Action on Saturday, July 31, was an engaging, fun-filled event for the community. More than 40 civic-minded individuals of all ages joined us at Johnnie B. Wiley Amateur Athletic Sports Pavilion, located on Jefferson Avenue.
The event started off with everyone color-dusting their white Open Buffalo t-shirts before the run. No individual seemed to have enough color on their shirt, so participants proceeded to endlessly tagging each other with color dust.
Then came the initiation of the run! Everyone present had a bag of color dust and threw it the air to commence our very first Color Run! Participants ran or walked a little over a mile to get to the barbecue, were everyone got to enjoy water or a Powerade and either a hotdog, hamburger, or veggie burger.
The Color Run was a huge success, full of joy and laughter. Until next year!
