MLK Day of Service Was Rewarding for All Involved

What a day to remember! In memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we seek to embody the words he spoke through our current acts of service, as well as in connections from different areas of our city coming together and building together.
For our 2024 MLK Day of Service, Open Buffalo was accompanied by Nickel City Ultimate and the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals. We sorted out the winter survival gear that Open Buffalo has collected over the last few months (scarves, gloves, hand warmers, mylar blankets, socks and some non-perishable food items), then we created some “Manifestation” boxes for our young folks in the upcoming “Level Up Series.” The boxes are to be reminders that every bump in the road isn’t a roadblock.
