Open Buffalo celebrates Sankofa 2022

On March 24th, Open Buffalo celebrated Sankofa 2022 at The Northland Workforce Training Center. Hosted by Ms. Talia Rodriguez (2015 Open Buffalo Emerging Leader), highlights included drumming by AFREEka Drumming, live painting by Muhammad Zaman, a Sankofa Award tribute to Ms. Grace Tate, music by Tru Journey and great food by Manna @Northland.
"Sankofa" is a principle derived from the Akan people of Ghana that one should remember the past to make positive progress in the future.
