Open Buffalo firmly condemns such acts of hatred and intolerance and stands in complete solidarity with New York State government officials, the cross-denominational voices of religious institutions, and countless social justice organizations who have also spoken out against the anti-Semitic attack. Such attacks throughout the United States continue to be troubling, with the F.B.I. reporting in 2018 that 57.8% of religious hate crimes were against Jewish People or Jewish Institutions.
This weekend’s news further supports the continued plague of division and racism that has burrowed itself deep into the country’s fabric. Such a diagnosis underscores the need for more outspoken means and measures to combat disturbing acts by disturbed, misguided, and misinformed people.
Open Buffalo calls on all communities to join against such acts of hatred and intolerance.
Open Buffalo is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to advance racial, economic, and ecological justice. It does so through skill building, network-connecting, and activating leadership opportunities. Its goal is for all communities in Western New York to thrive free from discrimination and poverty.
