“I want to fight for justice through my work as a self-employed writer. Joining the Emerging Leaders program has allowed me to understand systemic change from a variety of perspectives and has helped me see where I fit in as a leader. I know now that I can use my assets to bring a brighter tomorrow, and I now have access to so many more opportunities, resources, and community members than I ever have before. More than anything, this experience has reminded me why I love this city. In spite of all of its flaws, Buffalo remains a city of change makers.”
