Win grew up in Burma and came to the U.S. in 2007. She found her roots in Buffalo through grassroots work with various local networks. A true believer of equity and democracy, Win strives to empower the underrepresented youth and communities through education, civic engagement, and economic empowerment. Previously she was with the Buffalo State College Community Academic Center as an education coordinator and City Year Buffalo as an impact manager leading diverse academic programs and partnerships. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies from University at Buffalo and a MS in Multicultural Education from Buffalo State College. She serves on the Community Advisory Council of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, the Board of Trustees of Explore and More Children’s Museum and the Advisory Board of the Anne Frank Project. Being adventurous at heart, she likes to pick up fun stuff with like-minded folks. With the Scajaquada Canoe Club, she has done the Adirondack Canoe Classic 90-Miler twice. On top of that, she enjoys gardening and taking a walk in the neighborhood with her loved ones.
